Here’s an update from Bruce on the quality of the VoIP service in Malaysia:

———————————————————-
Hello Malaysia Telextreme Family!

I want to give you all an update on our progress over the past week in improving our quality of service for Malaysia. While we encountered a few last-minute technical issues, I’m happy to report that we’ve made very good progress since my last email to you all.

The secondary termination provider we put into place over the last two weeks has improved call quality for many people.

Most importantly, we began testing the new network infrastructure for Malaysia with our group of 29 beta testers and have very positive results. Calls are clear to both land lines and cell phones, and calls are connected much faster. Our testers have also been making calls around the world and are very happy with the results so far.

We will continue this test throughout the weekend. Assuming all continues to go well, we will then spend two days preparing a production system, and then move our 29 beta tester over to the new production system and have them making calls for a few days.

If all goes as planned, we expect to begin sending announcements on September 6th with directions on how to update your ATA to migrate to the new infrastructure. This process will require each of you to follow a few simple steps to get your ATA equipment pointing to our new server in Malaysia and new local termination provider.

Thank you again for all your efforts and patience. And stay tuned for exciting news in September.
